Seki Yasuko (b. 1955 Sendai, Japan) creates stunning ink landscapes pulling from Japanese ink painting, or sumi-e.

These landscapes are from places her ancestors use to live, taking her from all over the island of Japan.
Seki Yasuko’s work is in collections including The Tokyo National Museum and the Portland Art Museum. She got her BFA from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1979 and her MFA from Yale in 1985. He lives and works in Los Angeles.
