Into the Deep Blue
Hazel Lutz (b. 1977, New York, New York) Creates abstracted moments in time. Pulling from dreams, storytelling, music, and poetry, Lutz creates delicate landscapes on the canvas. Her work is filled with small gestures, playful colors, and intuitive movement.
Hazel Lutz’s work is in collections including San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art. She is the recipient of numerous awards including a 2018 Guggenheim Fellowship award, a 2019 Arts and Letters Award in Art from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a 2017 Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. She lives and works in the upper west side.
